The fans of DMX have been paying their respects to the late rap icon by listening to his music, and this have resulted in an increase of his overall streams. According to a report by MRC Data, DMX has seen a 928% surge in streaming numbers following his passing.
The Ruff Ryders lead rapper passed away on the 9th of April after attempting to recover from a drug-induced heart attack. The family confirmed the news in a statement, DMX’s music — which already saw a rise following his hospitalization
According to MRC Data, X’s tracks picked up 75.7 million audio and video streams on April 9 and 10.
The rapper’s most streamed songs on April 9-10 were “Ruff Ryders Anthem” (9.59 million; up 973%), “X Gon’ Give It To Ya” (5.79 million; up 900%), “Slippin'” (5.52 million; up 853%), “Party Up (In Here)” (5.20 million; up 941%) and “How It’s Goin’ Down,” (3.52 million; up 691%).
